Annual Gathering 2022
The Mothers’ Union Annual Gathering was held in the International Conference Centre, Belfast on Saturday 24th September. Drawing on our 2022 theme of ‘Transformation – Now!’, the event was a celebration of what we have achieved over the past year and an opportunity to look forward to the future.
The event was in two sessions (links to the session recordings can be found below), with the morning session, including Mid-day worship led by Right Rev John McDowell, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.
During the Annual Gathering, there were several presentations including:
- Showcasing the work of Mothers’ Union in Ireland ~ June Butler & Iris Suitor
- Updates from Mary Sumner House ~ Adam Sach, Richard Millar, Robert Daws & Bev Jullien
- A report on various projects throughout Great Britain ~ Bishop Emma Ineson, MU Central Chaplain, Bev Jullien, Deb Lee, Steph Nunn, Alison Fernandes and Kim Darby
- There was also a virtual address and presentations from the Worldwide President, Sheran Harper.
The gathering opened with prayer led by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, Right Revd David McClay and the Bishop of Connor, Right Revd. George Davison led the closing prayers. Following the main business of the day our members relax and enjoyed a concert featuring Clare Chorale.
