North Connor Annual Tea Party 2019

North Connor held their Annual Tea Party for Indoor/Senior members on Wednesday afternoon 1st May. It was hosted by the ladies of Portrush MU Branch.
The afternoon commenced with HC conducted by Rev John Anderson as the Rector Rev Canon Peter McDowell was on holiday.

Rae Scott, Area Chairman welcomed everyone expressing thanks to Rev Anderson and to the Portrush ladies who had done such a wonderful job.

We then enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with all the usual lovely scones, fruit loaf, tray bakes and fresh cream sponges etc.

There was a reasonable turnout of approximately 35 including DP Sally and her husband Bob, Joyce Bond, Connor F&P co-ordinator, Norma Bell, AI IM Contact and Evelyn Lewis Connor IM Contact.

A tea party usually finishes up with some entertainment and John opened up playing his keyboard and singing well-known songs which we were able to enjoy. One lady aged 93 had a dance around the floor with a friend!! This was followed with a few songs sung by Bob Cotter, husband of our DP Sally and Sally accompanied him.

The afternoon came to an end with some community singing led by Norma and Evelyn and also accompanied by Sally. This was Evelyn’s swansong as she finishes her six years at the end of this year. Perhaps Stardom has come too late!!!!!

In conclusion, Sally thanked everyone for coming and to the ladies for the beautiful afternoon.
