Sunday School Activity Packs

Ear savers

Although Craigs, Dunaghy and Killagan Mothers’ Union Branch have not been able to meet since early March they have been very busy.  The ladies arranged for special packs to be distributed around the Sunday School children within the Grouped Parish.  The packs contained small activity books, a colouring competition picture, colouring pencils/felt tips, sweets, and the all-important chocolate!  They also put together #Lockdown 2020 survival packs for all the young people in their CDK Youth group.  Each pack contained a devotional book, prayer and thought journal, pen, an encouragement postcard, sweets, chocolate, and a teabag.  The Branch is currently working on another activity for the children and young people to do later in June.

As well as the packs for the children and young people in their parish they have been collecting items for comfort packs, emergency toilet bags and colouring packs for distribution in Antrim Area Hospital.  They have also been busy with their knitting needles and crochet hooks making ear savers for medical and care staff; indeed, they have also supplied ear savers for a local Undertaker!  The ear savers are small knitted or crochet bands with a button sewed either end, these simple ear savers are made to help protect the ears from chafing when wearing a medical face mask.
