Ballymoney, Finvoy and Rasharkin Branch Project Work

The ladies from Ballymoney, Finvoy and Rasharkin Branch have been very busy and generous in supplying items for washbags following an appeal from the Sanna Mallon, Church of Ireland Chaplain at the Royal Victoria and Musgrave Hospitals.   The ladies have made up 75 bags for distribution which is fantastic work from such a small branch.

As well as the washbags branch chair, Roslyn Graham’s mother Margaret has been keeping herself busy knitting during the lockdown knitting trauma teddies.  Roslyn on behalf of her mother was pleased to deliver 160 teddies to Connect Base in Belfast. Connect Base, the Diocese of Connor/Church Army North Belfast Centre of Mission in Shankill Road provides ‘Baby Basics’ for young mothers. The essential items for mum and new baby, are donated to Connect Base and then made up in a Moses basket and given to the young mother to help her and the baby. Connect Base has an ongoing need for the teddies and were delighted to receive them.  Margaret’s also knits premature baby cardigans and hats as part of other Mothers’ Union outreach projects.
