DP Sally’s September Letter
Dear Fellow Members
I hope you all had a lovely summer and enjoyed the good weather. Bob and I have just returned from France where the temperature reached 37 degrees! We were fortunate that the cottage where we stayed in was nice and cool. It was lovely to relax and also be able to visit new places.
Now our autumn activities will be resuming, and I hope that top of your list will be the Annual Gathering later this month. It is an exciting time for us as we look forward to welcoming delegates from all over the world. It will also be great to have our branch meetings starting up again, though as you know the work of the Mothers’ Union never stops.
During the summer I had an email from a lady who was the recipient of one of our washbags, whilst in hospital. She expressed her gratitude for the well-prepared bag and the prayer it contained. This is just one example of appreciation for the project work that you undertake.
This month in our prayer diary we are thinking about Creationtide when we are called to pray and work for the protection of the environment that sustains us all now and will continue to do so in the future. As we look forward to harvest, we celebrate God’s goodness with thankful hearts.
In my last letter I mentioned the elections which will be coming later in the autumn. I trust you will have been thinking prayerfully about these and will consider allowing your name to go forward for one of the posts which will become vacant.
The Mothers’ Union Gift Guide for Christmas & Autumn/Winter 2022 is now available. There is a lovely selection of Christmas cards and other gifts this year and I would encourage you to order these directly from Angela, our MUe contact. You can do so at mue.connormothersunion@gmail.com.
May God richly bless you at this time and always.
With my love
Sally x
