Presentation of Starter Packs

On Friday 22nd March, Connor Diocesan President, Sally, VP F&A Unit, Alberta, Social Policy Contact, Jacqui and A&O Unit Co-ordinator, Wendy had the privilege of visiting a refuge in Lisburn which is operated by Women’s Aid, Belfast & Lisburn.  The Diocesan representatives heard first-hand from Siobhan the refuge manager about the challenges the women face in the refuge and what their needs are.  At the end of the visit, the representatives from Connor Diocese were delighted to hand over 7 the starter kits which in turn will be given to women who are preparing to move into their own homes.

A further date is to be arranged in early May for a visit to Women’s Aid Causeway & Mid Ulster to present the last 7 starter kits.

The second project which has been funded from the initial All Ireland seed funding will mean the Diocese will be able to present 2 Chromebooks to Heather, Project Manager at Women’s Aid, Belfast at our Diocesan Spring Council. The Chromebooks will be given to women who are trafficked to Northern Ireland to support them to continue or further their studies.

Further details of these 2 projects can be found by clicking on the link below.
