Update for Indoor Member Contacts

15th Dec. 2020,

Dear Diocesan Indoor Member Contact,

The Christmas season has arrived really early this year. People have had their Christmas tree and festive lights up for weeks. The letters from our Worldwide President and All Ireland President arrived in very good time for you to distribute in your dioceses.

We have all missed the Holy Communion services and Tea Parties but know that you have tried in various ways to keep in touch with your Indoor Members.

It is that time of year when we update our records. I would greatly appreciate your updated list of Indoor Members who are 90 years and over forwarded to me by the beginning of February 2021.  Please include the total number of Indoor Members and also the number of deaths recorded during 2020.  Do keep reminding me on a monthly basis of any significant birthdays. It is embarrassing to find I have sent a card to someone who has passed away. Cards signed by the All Ireland President are sent by me to members who are 90, 95, 100, 100+. When notifying me of a death, please include the date of birth as it makes it much easier for me to check my records.

I plan to have a meeting of Diocesan Indoor Member Contacts by zoom early 2021. This would be a time of sharing and getting to know others.  If there is a particular time of day which does not suit you, please let me know.

It is very easy at this time of year to get caught up in the hustle and bustle and lose sight of the real Christmas story and of its true meaning for the whole human race.  At the end of the strangest, most unpredictable year we have ever experienced including so much that was sad and depressing, we can still lift our spirits by celebrating the Christmas message of ‘Joy to the world, the Lord is come. He rules the world with truth and grace.’

May you and your family have the gladness of Christmas, which is hope, the spirit of Christmas which is peace and the heart of Christmas which is love,

Yours sincerely,

Norma
